Abstract
The thesis titled "Students’ Attitude Toward Learning English Using Song in
SMPIT Al-Mustofa" investigates the impact of using songs as a method for teaching
English to eighth-grade students. The study examines how songs influence students'
attitudes, motivation, and engagement in learning English. The research is
qualitative, employing questionnaires based on the Likert scale to collect data from
21 students. Findings reveal that most students have a positive attitude towards
learning English through songs. They reported that songs make learning more fun,
improve pronunciation, increase motivation, and make the subject easier to
understand. Additionally, students find the classroom environment more engaging
when songs are integrated into the lessons. The study suggests that songs not only
foster a relaxed and enjoyable learning atmosphere but also serve as an effective
tool to enhance language comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and student
participation. In conclusion, the research supports the integration of songs in
English language learning to improve students’ motivation, attitude, and learning
outcomes. It recommends further exploration of how different song genres might
affect learning and engagement.
