Abstract
Listening is crucial in daily communication, education, and personal life. This
research examines how technology can improve English listening skills in the
classroom, addressing the observed lack of effective learning media and student
proficiency. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Noice application
experimentally on students' listening skills. This research uses a quantitative
experimental method. The population subject in this study was all 286 tenth-grade
students of SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang, with a sample of two classes consisting of
72 students, class X-7 with 36 students as the control class and class X-6 with 36
students as the experimental class. The data collection technique used a multiplechoice test instrument consisting of 40 valid and reliable questions. Based on the
findings from paired sample test calculations, the average pre-test and post-test
scores of the classes proved that the treated class had a higher average than the
control class that did not receive treatment. Moreover, the hypothesis testing results
also concluded that there was significance, with Tcount greater than Ttable with details
(8.64 > 2.03). In the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class, the data
calculation results found that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Therefore, the
Noice application has a significant impact on students' listening skills after being
used as a learning medium. This discovery emphasizes the Noice application's
success in improving students' listening abilities and suggests its possible
advantages for use in educational contexts.
