Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh media aplikasi
YouTube Studycle Kids terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Penelitian ini
dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Pakuhaji Kabupaten Tangerang, pada siswa kelas VII
semester II tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi
eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design.
Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling, dengan
jumlah sampel sebanyak 39 siswa di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan aplikasi
YouTube Studycle Kids dan 42 siswa di kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode
pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil posttest menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata
keterampilan berbicara siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan
siswa di kelas kontrol. Rata-rata nilai pretest yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen
adalah 61,69, sementara kelas kontrol memperoleh rata-rata 45,46. Setelah
intervensi, rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen meningkat menjadi 83,62,
sedangkan kelas kontrol yaitu 49,82. Peningkatan keterampilan berbicara di kelas
eksperimen berdasarkan nilai pretest dan posttest adalah sebesar 21,93%,
sedangkan di kelas kontrol hanya sebesar 4,36%. Uji hipotesis menggunakan paired
sample t-test menunjukkan nilai probabilitas (signifikansi) sebesar 0,001 karena
nilai signifikansi ini lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka Ho ditolak. Hal ini membuktikan
bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari penggunaan aplikasi YouTube Studycle
Kids terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Pakuhaji.
